Jobs at Anne Grady

You will never meet someone who takes more pride in having a job than our individuals at Anne Grady Services. Those with intellectual disabilities crave independence and autonomy in their own lives and employment is just one way to reach those goals.

Financial independence is just one benefit from being employed. It is a great feeling to have your own money that you can spend how you choose. Just as important is a sense of purpose and self-worth that comes from being reliable and feeling accomplished. Eric loves coming to work at Anne Grady Services as a kitchen aid. He learned the skill of setting an alarm to arrive on time and is always eager to help.

Kenny takes great pride in his store. He sells snacks, soda and water. Always making sure his store is well stocked as well as keeping track of the stock in his vending machines is very important to him. He never wants anyone to go hungry or thirsty. Both Eric and Kenny know that their jobs are important, and that people rely on them for their services, which is huge when it comes to self-esteem and life purpose.

Jobs give more chances for social interaction and skill development. Given the chance, our individuals challenge themselves and discover their capabilities which leads to personal growth. When individuals with intellectual disabilities are given the tools and accommodations they need to thrive in the community, they will never cease to impress with their dedication and can-do attitudes.
