The benefits of water therapy are priceless to our individuals with disabilities.  Our brand-new physical therapy pool is giving us the chance to offer even more opportunities to our individuals with intellectual disabilities. Pain relief, strength building, and improved mobility are just some of the benefits of pool therapy. This is especially important to our individuals here at Anne Grady Services who face physical limitations.

Watching Jason being lowered into the pool on the pool lift was like watching him come alive. As soon as his toes touched the surface of the water, a smile spread over his face, and his eyes lit up.

As an individual who uses a wheelchair, spreading his arms and kicking his legs was truly a taste of freedom for Jason.  The smile never faded as his physical therapist guided him around the pool and encouraged him to splash and exercise. Being able to float on his back was a whole new perspective for him, and his eyes traveled back and forth over the room, taking in all the sights that he normally didn’t get to experience. The impact of something that seems so simple, like a therapy pool on individuals with intellectual disabilities, is unmeasurable in its meaning and benefits.
