Anne Grady Services Participates in Read-A-Thon
Event spreads awareness about intellectual disabilities in the community.

How much do you know about individuals with intellectual disabilities? If you don’t have someone in your life with differences, the answer could be, not much. It is important to us at Anne Grady Services to spotlight the individuals that we serve and raise awareness about intellectual disabilities.
When we were asked to read a book, Everyone Belongs, to Girl Scout Troop 1585, we thought it was a great way to connect. Reading the book opened the door to a very important conversation about acceptance as well as allowed us to answer questions that the scouts had for us about having disabilities. The chance to connect with young people is so important for our mission to break down barriers and dismantle biases about individuals with disabilities.
Troop 1585 was a very enthusiast group who were eager to learn and share their own stories. It was an honor to meet them and share our knowledge and passion for providing services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We can’t wait to have more conversations about this and continue our mission.
The girls earned their Ability badges and they were so proud!
